Young Ipswich Town goalkeeper Shane Supple has signed a new deal, keeping him at Portman Road for another three years.

The 18-year-old Republic of Ireland youth international, who made his one and only appearance for the club against Leicester in August, and kept a clean sheet, was pleased to put pen-to-paper.

"I'm really happy here and delighted to sign for another three years," Supple told Ipswich's official website.

Supple has been kept out of the first team by Lewis Price, who is just three years his senior and has already been called up by Wales, but he is determined to take over as number one.

"I'm lucky to be on the bench at 18, you won't get that at many clubs but Ipswich has a long tradition of giving young players a chance.

"I've been involved with the first team all season and I have really enjoyed that, but now I want to push on and try and challenge Lewis for the first team shirt," Supple added.
