Ipswich boss Joe Royle has offered contract extensions to a quartet of players.Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has offered contract extensions to a quartet of players.
Though the club failed to clinch a place in The Premiership, Royle is determined to keep the bulk of his squad together for another promotion challenge.
To that end, Royle has dished out new deals to Shefki Kuqi, Jim Magilton, Tommy Miller and Fabian Wilnis.
Kuqi, who is a target for Sunderland, and influential midfielder Miller have both been offered two-year contracts.
Veteran duo Magilton and Wilnis have been rewarded with 12-month deals, with Royle waiting for the players to decide on their futures.
"I have spoken to the four players and they know what is on the table," Royle told the club's official website.
"They are now all going away to think about the offers we have made but I have asked for an answer as soon as possible.
"Hopefully we will know where we stand in a couple of weeks."
But Royle has decided to cast Drissa Diallo adrift after informing the defender he will not be offered a deal to stay at Portman Road.
Royle is also waiting to hold talks with Pablo Counago about a possible deal for the Spanish striker, although his attacking options are set to be depleted by the expected exit of Darren Bent over the summer.
