Crystal Palace’s deadline day signing Zeki Fryers believes his move to Selhurst Park will help kick-start his career.

The 21-year-old joined Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 from Belgian side Standard Liege, but despite arriving with a big reputation the full-back made just seven league appearances for the club.

After failing to live up to his potential at White Hart Lane, Fryers is determined to make a name for himself under the stewardship of new Eagles boss Neil Warnock.

"I have met Neil and he welcomed me and spoke to me about certain things on and off the pitch," he told the club website.

"I know he is a great manager and he played a big part in me coming here.

"I am looking forward to working with him and getting to know my new team-mates."

Fryers believes that Palace will help him discover his potential and admitted that the Eagles’ approach was initially a surprise.

"I found out over the weekend from my agent that there was interest," he added.

"I heard that certain clubs were interested, but I knew Crystal Palace were the best club for me at this time of my career.

"It came out of nowhere, but I am absolutely buzzing to be here.

"It is a fresh start for me now and I can't wait to get out on the training pitch and show what I can do."
