Jason Puncheon has described Saturday's trip to relegation rivals Sunderland as 'another cup final' in Crystal Palace's fight for Premier League survival.
The Selhurst Park club travel to the Stadium of Light just two points above the drop zone and having played two games more than their weekend hosts, who occupy 19th position.
Puncheon is therefore in no doubt about the importance of the game as Palace try to avoid being sucked into the relegation zone after last weekend's defeat at home to Southampton.
The winger told Sky Sports at the launch of Titanfall: "It is another cup final for us to try and get the three points."
If they are to succeed against Capital One Cup finalists Sunderland, Palace must address away form in the Premier League which stretches well beyond the current season and has seen them win just two of their last 26 top-flight games on their travels.
Not only that but scoring is proving a problem as Palace's total of 23 goals in the league and domestic cups in this current campaign is lower than any other side in England's top four divisions.
Puncheon said: "We have done well in spots at home but I think the most important thing which anyone looks at is that we need to get points. That is what we are going to Sunderland to do."
He added with regards to Palace's difficulties in scoring goals: "It has been difficult but we will take a 1-0 win all day long at Sunderland this Saturday."
That Palace, last season's Championship play-off winners, still have a hope of avoiding relegation is credit to a club who had looked doomed before Christmas.
And a lot of that recognition must go to boss Tony Pulis after he succeeded Ian Holloway at the end of last November.
Puncheon said: "It has been good. The manager obviously gave us a lift and it is a different voice. You can see that in our performances and also our results.
"The gaffer is sound. He tells you what he wants and you do that. If you are not doing that, he lets you know. He is honest and I have got to give him credit for that."
