Gayle pens new Daggers deal

Dwight Gayle has penned a new three-year contract with Dagenham after making his mark at the League Two club last season.

The emerging striker only joined the Daggers last summer but enjoyed an impressive debut campaign, scoring 42 goals in all competitions while on loan at Blue Square Bet North side Bishop's Stortford. Despite having 12 months remaining on his contract, Gayle's potential has been rewarded with a deal which ties him to the League Two club until the summer of 2015. Daggers boss John Still told the club's official website: "I'm hoping he will follow in the footsteps of Paul Benson, Tresor Kandol, Ben Strevens and be a fantastic forward for us." The news comes after midfielder Billy Bingham also signed a new three-year contract with the Essex club on Wednesday.
