QPR manager Neil Warnock insists that any move for trialist Danny Gabbidon is at an early stage.
Gabbidon told skysports.com that he was training with the newly-promoted Hoops after becoming available on a free transfer.
The Wales defender, who came out of contract last month, featured as one of four trialists in Monday night's 13-0 friendly win away to Cornish amateurs Tavistock.
The 31-year-old is looking for a fresh start after an injury-hit six-year spell with the Hammers but Warnock stressed both parties have plenty to consider before a deal is done.
"We're just looking at Danny," Warnock told the club's official website.
"I spoke to him last week and I told him to come to Cornwall - there's no pressure down there.
"He can come and train and we had a really tough session running yesterday morning. It also gives him the chance to look at us too."
Gabbidon started out at West Brom before returning to his native Wales with Cardiff in 2000, initially on loan.
He went on to play 219 games for the Bluebirds, scoring 10 goals, before making 92 appearances for the Hammers.
