Palace boss confirms offer from Brighton for midfielder
Crystal Palace boss Dougie Freedman is keen to keep hold of Owen Garvan after Brighton made a bid for the midfielder.
As revealed by skysports.comlast weekend, the Seagulls launched an approach to sign the 23-year-old from their Championship rivals.
The former Ipswich player slipped out of the first-team reckoning after Freedman replaced George Burley in the Palace hotseat in January.
But the Eagles boss insists Garvan remains an important member of his squad and is keen to retain his services at Selhurst Park.
Freedman told the South London Press: "Brighton have enquired about Owen but I'm reluctant to let him go because he is such a good player.
"He didn't find himself in the team at the end of last season but I'm sure if he comes back and gets his head down that his quality will shine through.
"Time will tell if that is in our team or someone else's."
