Defender escapes three-game ban

Ipswich defender Damien Delaney has won his appeal against his sending off against Scunthorpe last weekend. Delaney has avoided a three-match suspension and is therefore clear to play for the Tractor Boys in Tuesday night's clash at Watford. Delaney was dismissed by referee Pat Miller for his challenge on Scunthorpe's Jonathan Fortune, but Ipswich submitted video evidence to support their case and the red card was rescinded by the FA panel. The news is a boost for Roy Keane's men as they look to climb clear of trouble at the wrong end of the table.
