Nigel Clough has confirmed that Derby are close to signing Dean Moxey and Lee Croft with both deals set to go through at the end of the month.
The Rams boss has been a long-term admirer of Moxey and Exeter finally accepted an offer this week, allowing the defender to meet with Clough and discuss personal terms on Monday.
Meanwhile Croft will arrive on a free transfer after allowing his contract at Norwich to run down this summer.
Clough insists that both players should be signed up before pre-season, although he does admit that talks with Croft are slightly more advanced.
"We have had a chat to Dean and we are getting close, it is a good opportunity for him if he wants to take it and I think he wants to come," he said.
"We have just got to agree one or two small things with him but I hope he sees the opportunity that is there for him to play in the Championship for a club like Derby.
"Being on a free transfer, Lee is probably a bit closer than Dean is. But we would hope to have them in for the start of pre-season training on July 1st."
