Palace's bid to gatecrash the Championship play-offs was boosted by Morrison's brace in Saturday's success at Selhurst Park.
It was the first time the striker had scored in almost three months and assistant manager Kit Symons praised the Republic of Ireland international's contribution.
"Clinton comes alive in the box," said Symons. "It's been a frustrating season for him, but hopefully he can kick on from here.
"We didn't play fantastically well today, but we did more than enough to win the game.
"Until it's mathematically impossible to get promotion, we're going to keep grinding away."
Just two minutes after Mark Hudson's own goal had drawn Luton level, the visitors had Langley dismissed for a second bookable offence.
While Hatters boss Newell had no qualms with the second yellow card, he was mystified as to the midfielder's first caution.
Newell said: "I thought we had enough of the game to take something from it.
"It was always going to be hard after we'd gone down to 10 men. The tackle was a clear booking.
"But I don't know what the first yellow card was for. I'm told it was for dissent, but surely you're allowed to contest a decision."
