Crystal Palace winger Jobi McAnuff has undergone surgery on a hernia problem.
The 24-year-old went under the knife in Germany on Monday, but Palace hope for a speedy recovery.
"Jobi McAnuff had a hernia operation on Monday," said Palace boss Peter Taylor.
"It's exactly the same as what Ben Watson had done and he won't be available for Saturday, but hopefully he may be back for the Plymouth game."
McAnuff is the latest blow for Palace having already lost both right backs Matt Lawrence and Danny Butterfield.
"We've been a little unfortunate to lose two recognised full backs in the space of a couple of weeks so that hasn't helped," added Taylor.
