Boss Peter Taylor has reassured out-of-favour defender Darren Ward of his future at Crystal Palace.
Taylor took over the reins at Selhurst Park after leaving Hull City this summer, and has opted for Mark Hudson ahead of the 28-year-old so far.
Though the former Millwall defender is yet to feature in any of the first seven Championship fixtures up to this point, Taylor has confirmed he remains firmly in his plans for The Eagles.
"Darren has always been a player who has been in my thoughts, but in the end, Hudson got the vote ahead of him at the start of the season," Taylor explained.
"But over the course of the campaign, a player will always get a chance to get back into the team, and that is what is happening to Darren now."
Palace have faded away in the league of late and Taylor will be hoping Ward's addition can boost his team for the important away game against Norwich City away on Saturday.
