Danny Granville is ready to repay Crystal Palace after making just one league appearance this season.

The 31-year-old signed a new two-year deal last summer, but he has managed just one game since then because of a knee injury.

However, Granville is now looking forward to making a return.

"It hasn't been much fun," he told the Croydon Advertiser

"But the lads have been good to me. It's times like these you need your friends and family around you, and I can't thank them enough for the support they've given me this year. They've been brilliant.

"I do feel like I owe the club after signing the new deal. I've hardly kicked a ball since, so they haven't had their money's worth.

"It's been such a long process to get the knee right again, I'm just glad to be playing again - whatever level it's at.

"I've enjoyed playing for the reserves, and some of the team's performances have been excellent. And I'm now nearly back to full fitness. The knee's feeling nice and strong again, touch wood."
