Eagles join Riordan chase

Crystal Palace have joined the race for Hibernian ace Derek Riordan.

Crystal Palace have joined the race for Hibernian ace Derek Riordan.

The Hibs forward has attracted a great deal of interest and Rangers have already failed with a bid to land him.

South of the border, Leeds are keen and they have been joined in the hunt by Palace.

Eagles boss Iain Dowie watched Riordan score in the midweek win over Kilmarnock and is believed to have been impressed.

Unusually Riordan is out of contract in October, which means he can talk to clubs on May 1 - but he may not be allowed to leave until two months into next season - should he opt to take the Bosman route.
