Skysports.com can reveal that Crystal Palace swooped to sign Finnish winger Joonas Kolkka from German club Borussia Monchengladbach.

The 29-year-old has been offered a three-year deal with The Eagles subject to a successful medical at Selhurst Park.

Kolkka failed to settle at Monchengladbach last season after his arrival from Panathinaikos.

Monchengladbach were willing to let the player leave and Palace have moved quickly to offer him a move to England.

Kolkka's agent Klees Ploegsma confirmed to skysports.com that he client has secured a move to Selhurst Park.

"He had his medical this morning [Tuesday]," he told skysports.com.

"He has agreed a three-year deal and is delighted to have sealed a move to England.

"There were clubs from France, Holland and Germany wanting him, but he decided to sign for Palace.

"He has gone to sort a few things out at home and should be back before the end of the week to join up with Palace."

Kolkka will help fill the void left by Julian Gray's departure to Birmingham.
