Burnett hails Dagenham display

Dagenham boss Wayne Burnett hailed one of their best performances of the season after a 2-0 win over Plymouth at Victoria Road.

Abu Ogogo smashed the opener into an empty net after half an hour and Jamie Cureton added a late second. "I am absolutely delighted with the performance and delighted with the result," said Burnett. "I was pleased with us. Plymouth have got some good footballers, the likes of Reuben Reid, Lewis Alessandra and Bobby Reid in behind. "They have got attacking players who score lots of goals and it is no coincidence that they are in one of the play-off positions. "We knew how dangerous they could be and I think we have to take credit for how well we have played. "We played very, very well against a team that have been going very well. I think they have got 18 clean sheets so I am extremely pleased that we have managed to score two goals and keep a clean sheet." Argyle manager John Sheridan slammed the display from his team and insisted they must do better. "It was a very disappointing performance again and I have just said to the players for what we are trying to achieve, where we are and what is at stake I think it was a very lethargic performance," said Sheridan. "Fans don't want to him me apologising. We have got good supporters and a lot have come and it is a poor performance. "The players know what is at stake. I totally accept the fans disappointment and I was disappointed with the way we played. "I felt there was something for us in the game if we wanted to kick on and I asked the players questions and I didn't get any answers. "We have got to go on to the next game and keep pushing away because there is still games and still time, but not with performances like that and Saturday's performance was the same."
