York City duo Nigel Worthington and Keith Lowe are both in contention for Sky Bet League 2 monthly awards for February.
The Minstermen have climbed to 10th in the League 2 standings and are in contention to make a late push for the play-off places in the closing weeks of the season.
Lowe's arrival on loan from Cheltenham late last year has added greater defensive resolve and they conceded just one goal in four games last month, with two victories and two draws.
Improving Bury also boast a brace of nominees, with manager Dave Flitcroft joined by versatile defender Jim McNulty in contention for the latest honours.
The manager of the month nominees are completed by Plymouth's John Sheridan and Chris Wilder of Northampton, while Scunthorpe's Sam Winnall and Rochdale striker Scott Hogan make up the player category.
The judging panel is chaired by former Football League manager Dave Bassett with Sky Sports' Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League chief operating officer Andy Williamson; League Managers' director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet head of football Paul Wiggins.
The winners will be announced on Friday morning.
Here, Sky Sports considers more closely the managers in contention.
Dave Flitcroft (Bury)
Flitcroft's shrewd January acquisitions helped to bring about a dramatic transformation in performances and results. The Shakers went unbeaten, picking up 11 points from five games as they moved clear of the relegation zone.
John Sheridan (Plymouth Argyle)
Sheridan's second year in charge of Argyle began in style with three convincing away victories full of verve in February, including a stunning 4-0 success at Fleetwood Town, a result which lifted his side to the edge of the play-off positions.
Chris Wilder (Northampton Town)
Wilder's first full month in the post renewed hope that relegation can be avoided. He has instilled belief and confidence in his new charges, with a vital win away to fellow strugglers Torquay United proving the catalyst in gaining 10 points from six games.
Nigel Worthington (York City)
Worthington masterminded superb away victories at promotion-chasing Fleetwood Town and Plymouth Argyle in an unbeaten month which saw his emerging side pick up eight points and concede just one goal to move into the top half.
Sky Sports also takes a look at those in the mix to be named Player of the Month.
Scott Hogan (Rochdale)
An integral part of Dale's fast-flowing football, striker Hogan stood out by scoring four goals including a 16-minute hat-trick in the 3-0 win at AFC Wimbledon. His other goal came via a curling finish after a forceful run and shot against Morecambe.
Keith Lowe (York City)
A defensive rock at centre-back since coming in on loan from Cheltenham Town. Lowe displayed his strength in the air and shrewd reading of the game as York went unbeaten in February, conceding just a single goal in four matches.
Jim McNulty (Bury)
Switching between left-back and central defence, the January arrival brought stability to the Bury back four which let in just two goals in five games. Strong in the tackle, pacey and an accurate crosser, he displayed his skill in both boxes.
Sam Winnall (Scunthorpe United)
Winnall continued his stellar season by scoring in four straight games as Scunthorpe held onto their automatic promotion place. The variety of the striker's goals - headers, tap-ins and fierce, angled drives from distance, make him difficult to mark.
