Plymouth apprentice Ben Purrington has signed his first professional contract with the Pilgrims.
The left-back, who turned 17 on Monday, has just completed the first year of what was set to be a two-year apprenticeship but instead he will join up with the first-team squad for pre-season training. Purrington celebrated the news on Twitter, writing: "So happy to get my first professional contract with Argyle. Great birthday present!"
