Gillingham have agreed a deal to sign MK Dons defender Tom Flanagan on a half-season loan.

The 20-year-old made his Dons debut as a late substitute against Carlisle in February 2010 and made 22 appearances in the Blue Square Bet Premier after joining Kettering on loan in January 2011. Flanagan played a fuller part in Karl Robinson's first team plans last term, scoring three times in 26 games. Gills manager Martin Allen told his club's official website: "He's a centre-back and played about 27 games last season in a team which was in the play-offs virtually all season. He played very well against the team I was managing last year - he's a young centre back and a good player." Flanagan is set to link up with his new team-mates ahead of Tuesday night's friendly with Dover Athletic.
