Plymouth boss Carl Fletcher was left to rue his side's lack of killer instinct in the final third after a goalless draw against Dagenham.
Argyle substitute Luke Daley almost broke the deadlock with a shot which flew off the base of a post in the 72nd minute before recalled left-back Robbie Williams struck exactly the same post with a left-footed effort just moments later. Midfielder Conor Hourihane had earlier fired over when it looked easier to score but, nevertheless, the stalemate extended Plymouth's unbeaten run to four matches. Fletcher said: "It was important we didn't lose and you have got to hand it to the lads, we did everything but score. We hit the post twice and had three good first-half chances. "We knew it was going to be scrappy and we were going to have to earn the right to play. We were well aware of what was coming and we also knew we were going to have to be patient. "We didn't get the goal we deserved. If we had taken our chances I think we would have gone on to win the game. All the lads worked hard and we got another clean sheet, that's our third in a row, and that's a real positive."
