Cooper takes hat off to Pools

Hartlepool boss Neale Cooper was delighted with the effort of his players in the 2-2 draw with Sheffield Wednesday.

Peter Hartley put Pools ahead early in the second half before Jermaine Johnson and Gary Madine fired the hosts in front. But Antony Sweeney grabbed an 87th-minute equaliser to ensure the game ended all-square. "The weather conditions were difficult for both sides but I thought it was a pretty exciting game. "It was backs-to-the-wall a wee bit in the first half. We knew it would be like that but I thought the lads dealt with it. "In the second half I thought we played some really good stuff. We rode our luck once or twice but I was really pleased with the effort."
