League Two rivals battle for Crawley's young defender

Sky Sports understands Plymouth and Barnet are keen on a loan bid for Crawley Town's out-of-favour defender Charlie Wassmer. The 20-year-old was a regular in the opening months of the campaign before being dropped and joining non-league Fleetwood Town on loan. Wassmer helped the high-flying Blue Square Premier side win three from three and the unsettled stopper now wants to secure first-team action. Relegation-threatened Plymouth are in the running for the youngster's signature, but they face competition from Barnet, who are five points clear of the League Two drop zone. Steve Evans' Crawley have made a positive impact on the back of promotion and they lead the League Two table 24 games into the season.
