Brent waiting on Argyle decision

Businessman James Brent is determined to take control of Plymouth, but admits he is still negotiating with the club's shareholders.

Brent, chairman of the Akkeron Group, is one of several parties interested in buying the Pilgrims - who are bottom of League Two and on Sunday parted company with manager Peter Reid. And the entrepreneur and hotelier believes he would be able to push his plans through quickly, if given the nod. "If we can agree the appropriate terms with the stakeholders than I absolutely want to buy Plymouth Argyle," he told Insider. "We have had conversations with all of the chief stakeholders and all of those conversations have been constructive. "If the stakeholders do want to support it, it's as simple as completing the remaining due diligence and the documentation."
