Plymouth Argyle boss Peter Reid was impressed by trialist Conor Hourihane after he hit the winner in a 2-1 win over Truro City.

Ipswich midfielder Hourihane struck before half-time to secure the Pilgrims' first home pre-season win of the campaign on Wednesday night. Reid said: "Conor's goal was terrific. I think he's got a good range of passing." Fellow trialists Joe Holt and French forward Joseph Mendes also starred. "They all acquitted themselves all very well. I'll be speaking to the relevant parties," added Reid. Truro took the lead at Home Park when Les Afful slotted home after 26 minutes. But Argyle hit back within seven minutes through a deflected effort from captain Carl Fletcher before Hourihane fired home the winner just three minutes later.
