Defender heads to Spotland after Goodall goes the other way

Rochdale have secured the signing of Stockport County defender Robbie Williams on a deal until the end of the season. Williams only joined League Two strugglers Stockport last summer on a free transfer after spending three years with Huddersfield Town. The full-back made 26 appearances during his time at Edgeley Park, but clinched his departure before the close of the transfer window. The 26-year--old will help to boost Keith Hill's squad for the closing months of the season as Rochdale aim to push towards the League One play-offs. Williams' arrival at Spotland followed the exit of Alan Goodall earlier on deadline day as he made the move in the opposite direction.
