Oxford have signed their third loanee of the week with striker Steven MacLean joining from Plymouth on a one-month deal.

The forward joins Paul Wotton and Ben Futcher at the Kassam Stadium as manager Chris Wilder attempts to freshen up his depleted squad.

MacLean is likely to make the U's squad to face Rotherham on Saturday and is relishing the challenge.

"I'm really looking forward to it," he told the U's official website. "It's a good club with great support and I'm looking forward to working with the manager. Hopefully I can come up and do well for the club."

Wilder was delighted to secure the striker's services and added: "He is an experienced striker with a proven goalscoring record. It is a great deal for the club to have him here for a month initially. His arrival gives us great strength in depth at the top end of the pitch."
