Southend United manager Paul Sturrock has completed the signing of Chris Barker on a permanent deal from Plymouth Argyle.
The 30-year-old left-back has penned a two-year contract at Roots Hall after enjoying a successful loan spell in the opening weeks of the campaign and joins on a free transfer. Sturrock told the club's official website: "Chris has done exceptionally well for us so far. "He has shown that he is comfortable at left-back or centre-back and I am delighted to have him him on board permanently."
