Midfielder leaves Home Park after one season

Plymouth have confirmed that midfielder Alan Gow has been released from his contract. The 27-year-old spent the final few months of last season on loan at Hibernian, but he returned to Home Park after his spell with the SPL side ended in June. New Argyle boss Peter Reid has deemed that Gow is surplus to requirements and he leaves the club after just one season, in which he made only eight starts. A statement on the club's official website read: "Argyle can confirm that Alan Gow has been released from his contract with the club with effect from July 9. "The club wish Alan well in his future." Gow is now expected to complete a move back to Scotland, having also spent time at Airdrie, Falkirk and Rangers earlier in his career.
