MK Dons midfielder Peter Leven is a target for Championship duo Nottingham Forest and Plymouth, skysports.com understands.
Leven is out of contract in the summer and could leave the League One club for nothing.
The news has alerted a number of clubs to Leven's possible availability with Forest and Plymouth believed to be in the market for reinforcements.
Forest boss Billy Davies is thought to be an admirer of Leven, while Pilgrims chief Paul Sturrock is keen to add a midfielder to his squad.
MK Dons are keen not to lose Leven on a free transfer and are believed to be in negotiations with the player's agent over a contract extension.
