Skysports.com understands Plymouth are ready to move for MK Dons midfielder Peter Leven in the January transfer window.
Pilgrims boss Paul Sturrock is known to be in the market for a central midfielder and has had Leven watched over the past couple of weeks.
Leven is out of contract in the summer and is weighing up his options as he considers a move away from the League One promotion hopefuls.
The former Kilmarnock favourite joined MK Dons in June 2008 after turning down a contract at Chesterfield and has impressed for Roberto Di Matteo's side this term.
Brighton have in the past had a £100,000 offer for the player rejected but could also renew their interest in the New Year.
