Bournemouth have taken Yeovil's Stephen Maher on trial as Kevin Bond looks to bring in a midfielder.

Cherries also keen on Summerfield

Bournemouth have taken Yeovil Town's Stephen Maher on trial as Kevin Bond looks to bring in a midfielder. Bond is short on options in midfield and has enquired about Plymouth Argyle youngster Luke Summerfield. He has also brought in Maher on trial, with the teenager having made his Yeovil Town debut in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy earlier this season. Maher could play for the reserves against Forest Green as Cherries boss Bond seeks to bolster his ranks. "Luke is an energetic, forward-running midfield player and did well for us when he was here last season," Bond told the Daily Echo of his interest in Summerfield. "It's an area I'm certainly looking at because I think we need someone who can run forward from a midfield role or break forward from a midfield three. "I'm short of bodies in the middle of the park and, if I could do something about that, I would. I'm trying to work on a couple of things, given the limitations I've got to work with."
