Connolly blow for Argyle

Plymouth defender Paul Connolly faces more than a month on the sidelines.

Plymouth Argyle have been hit with the news Paul Connolly faces more than a month on the sidelines.

Connolly pulled up in setting-up Bojan Djordjic's winner against Luton ten days ago and as a result missed the club's 3-0 loss at Birmingham in their next outing.

Scans have confirmed the full-back has suffered a hamstring injury and the early diagnosis from club coach Des Bulpin is not positive.

"It could be a long injury," said Bulpin.

"He's making good progress but a hamstring injury can keep you out for up to six weeks.

"But our physio Paul Maxwell will be working as hard as ever to get him fit and we are still hopeful that he will be back in action sooner rather than later."
