Plymouth boss Ian Holloway does not believe he will be successful in signing Marcus Stewart.
The striker is surplus to requirements at Bristol City and Holloway has expressed interest in the 33-year-old, but feels The Robins are asking too much for his signature.
"I think that probably will not happen," the Pilgrims boss told the Evening Herald.
"In my opinion, they don't want the bloke and they will not let us have him for the right price, but there you go.
"I have gone on and got who I want (Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Barry Hayles). We will wait and see what else happens."
