Doumbe extends Pilgrims stay

Plymouth defender Mathias Doumbe has signed a new contract with the club.

Plymouth defender Mathias Doumbe has signed a new contract with The Championship outfit

Pilgrims chief executive Michael Dunford revealed earlier this month that Doumbe was on the verge of agreeing a new two-year contract.

Only financial terms held up the deal but those issues have now been resolved and Doumbe has put pen-to-paper on a deal until 2008.

While Doumbe will remain at Home Park veteran full back Rufus Brevett and Scottish midfielder Keith Lasley have been released.

Both players spent the end of the season on loan - at Leicester and Blackpool respectively - and will now seek pastures new.
