At Home Park, Plymouth got their second win in three days as they rolled past local rivals Exeter City. Steve Adams set them on the way before Chris Curran put through his own net just before the half hour to make it two.
Marino Keith made it three with 16 minutes to go, which was too much for Sean McCarthy who got himself sent off 60 second later as Exeter ended the match with ten men.
Matthew Taylor (pictured) got the only goal of the game three minutes from the break as Luton scraped a 1-0 win at Lincoln.
Leyton Orient scraped a further point clear of Halifax with a scoreless draw against Darlington, whilst the West Yorkshire side went down 2-1 to Mansfield who look on course for automatic promotion.
Ian Fitzpatrick put Halifax into the lead on the half hour but second half strikes from David Kelly (53) and the freescoring Chris Greenacre (66) gave Mansfield all three points.
Scunthorpe battled to a 2-2 draw at Swansea but gave up the equaliser in injury time as the Welsh side matched them all the way.
Alex Calvo-Garcia put The Iron into the lead on the half hour, only for Gareth Phillips to equalise four minutes from the interval. With time running down, Brian Quailey swooped to put the visitors back in front three minutes from time, however, Swansea's Andrew Mumford had the last say with his injury time leveller.
In the battle of the play-off contenders, Hartlepool fell to a 3-0 defeat at Cheltenham, Tony Naylor (41, 74) and Julian Alsop (43) getting the goals.
Kidderminster scraped past Shrewsbury 1-0 thanks to Mick Heathcote's own goal in the 12th minute.
Oxford got a fine away victory at Macclesfield as Paul Powell's 24th minute strike proved the winner.
Tesfaye Bramble's brace gave Southend a 2-1 win over Bristol Rovers. The prodigious Nathan Ellington had given the visitors a 36th minute lead but Bramble equalised from the spot in first half injury time.
He then secured all three points from the Essex side with a goal in the 58th minute.
Kevin Hill's 72nd minute equaliser gave Torquay a 1-1 draw with Rushden & Diamonds, for whom Stewart Wardley had opened the scoring in the 38th minute.
The games at York and Rochdale were postponed.
