EXETER CITY have made a major splash in the transfer market, with manager Noel Blake bringing four new players to St James Park.

Macclesfield`s Graeme Tomlinson (pictured) heads the list of new arrivals, as he has taken a major cut in wages to play his football in Division Three next season. The former Manchester United striker is still only 24, and he played with Blake at Bradford.

Jon Ashton, a strapping full back with Plymouth, is another shrewd acquisition that excites Blake. The 21-year-old played 11 times for Argyle last term, and he has the physical attributes to become a major success with The Grecians.

"There`s plenty still to come from Graeme and Jon," Blake told ClubCall. "They`re young lads, but with a lot of experience. They are good athletes."

Also on their way into the club are David Brightwell and Darren Roberts. Brightwell, brother of Ian, is a commanding centre back, formerly with Manchester City, while striker Roberts arrives from Scarborough, after previously playing for the likes of Wolves and Darlington.
