Cardiff City have continued to strengthen their squad by signing Uruguay Under 20 international defender Maximiliano Amondarain on a four-year contract.
The 20-year-old trained with Cardiff earlier in the summer and showed enough to earn a permanent deal with the Premier League new boys.
Amondarain was part of the Uruguay squad which reached the final of the FIFA Under 20 World Cup in Turkey in July and has most recently been playing for Progreso.
He becomes Cardiff manager Malky Mackay's sixth summer signing following the club's promotion to the top flight.
Mackay has broken Cardiff's transfer record three times so far after bringing in striker Andreas Cornelius, defender Steven Caulker and midfielder Gary Medel.
