Cardiff City defender Mark Hudson has called on the club to keep hold of talismanic midfielder Peter Whittingham this summer.
The 27-year-old played a vital role as the Bluebirds reached the Carling Cup final and Championship play-offs this season.
Whittingham was named in the PFA Championship team of the year, but a memorable campaign ultimately ended in disappointment as West Ham booked a place at Wembley for the play-off final at City's expense with a resounding 5-0 aggregate success.
"I couldn't rave about Peter enough, he always works hard and he never misses a game," said captain Hudson.
"If you look at how many games he's played this season, he's always been there, trying his best, working as hard as he can for the cause.
"You do need to keep hold of those sort of players, but we'll see. We're trying to keep everyone together.
"If we can do that and then maybe add one or two, we can go to the next level, hopefully."
