QPR boss Neil Warnock has ruled out Danny Gabbidon for Saturday's visit of Blackburn as he continues his recovery from injury.

Connolly could be called on to bolster QPR backline

QPR boss Neil Warnock has ruled out Danny Gabbidon for Saturday's visit of Blackburn as he continues his recovery from injury. The centre-back picked up a knee problem during the 3-0 win at Wolves on September 17th and has not featured for the Hoops since. Long-term absentee Kieron Dyer also remains out due to the foot injury he sustained in QPR's opening day defeat to Bolton. Defender Matt Connolly could be set for a return to the first-team as Warnock looks for options in his backline. But the youngster is also recovering from a knock, having not featured since he damaged his ankle during last month's goalless draw with Newcastle.

Problem

Warnock told London24: "Gabbidon will definitely be out, Kieron Dyer has got a complicated problem with the ligament on the top of his foot. "He's unlucky really, it's a lot more difficult than the orthopedic guy thought when he first saw him. There's no date, well just try and get him back as quickly as we can. "But he's feeling a lot better now, he's started rehabilitation now and he's walking. "Hopefully Connolly will be available but that will be touch and go I'd imagine."
