Skysports.com understands Cardiff City defender Kevin McNaughton is poised to sign a new contract with the club.
The 27-year-old Scotland international made 21 Championship appearances for the Bluebirds last season and is expected to pen new terms by the end of the week.
He struggled with injuries last term which hampered his progress on the pitch, but the club have stood by him and offered him a new deal.
McNaughton moved to Cardiff in 2006 from Aberdeen and has been a stalwart for the Welsh outfit ever since.
The player's current contract is set to expire next summer, as are the deals of team-mates Jay Bothroyd, Peter Whittingham, Chris Burke and Stephen McPhail.
McNaughton is usually deployed as a full-back by manager Dave Jones but his versatility in defence is one of his strong points.
