Cardiff City defender Glenn Loovens has had his appeal against his red card turned down.
The 22-year-old will miss Tuesday's trip to Plymouth Argyle as a result, having been sent off for a professional foul on David Nugent in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Preston North End.
The Dutchman appealed to the Football Association of Wales in order to have the red card rescinded, but those efforts proved all in vain.
Meanwhile, teenage striker Andreas Ferretti has returned to parent club Cardiff after a month-long loan spell with Scunthorpe United.
