Bluebird set to fly away

Cardiff City striker Andy Campbell looks set to end a disappointing spell at Cardiff.

Cardiff City striker Andy Campbell looks set to end a disappointing spell at the Championship club by joining Newport County.

The 26-year-old former Middlesbrough man has never really achieved the success he would have expected since arriving at Ninian Park and has now been judged surplus to requirements.

Campbell has recently returned to Cardiff after a non-productive loan spell at Oxford and it would now appear he is to fall further down the football pyramid by signing for Conference South side Newport.

The pacey forward, who has scored goals in The Premiership, is currently negotiating a settlement with Cardiff for the remaining six months of his contract.
