Cardiff reject Barker bid

Cardiff City have rejected a bid from Nottingham Forest for defender Chris Barker.

Cardiff City have rejected a bid from League One side Nottingham Forest for defender Chris Barker.

The offer - thought to have been around £100,000 - proved not a decent enough valuation of the 25-year-old for The Bluebirds.

Barker spent the early part of last season on loan at Championship side Stoke City and seemed tipped to be one of the players that would move on in the wake of Cardiff's cash crisis.

Cardiff have seen a number of players go through the Ninian Park exit door in recent months following the well-publicised money woes surrounding the South Wales outfit.

The financial plight has seen a number of clubs come in for some of Cardiff's top players, with Forest boss Gary Megson seemingly keen on signing the former Barnsley man.

It remains to be seen if Forest will come back to The Bluebirds with an improved bid for Barker.
