Rotherham manager Mick Harford is set to hand Gary Montgomery a new deal.

Montgomery has not made an appearance for The Millers this term, but Harford clearly feels the 22-year-old has a future at the club.

Rotherham are preparing for life in League One next term, following their relegation from The Championship, and Montgomery is likely to be one of the players handed the chance to help them bounce back at the first time of asking.

Harford has yet to make decisions on the futures of Darren Garner, Andy Monkhouse, Rob Scott and Paul Warne, with all four set to be out of contract in the summer.

Harford also confirmed at a recent fans' forum that he has no plans to bring former Millers striker Alan Lee back to the club from Cardiff City.
