Cardiff City have confirmed that Neil Harris rejected a permanent switch to Ninian Park in order to switch to Nottingham Forest.

Harris had been on loan at Cardiff from Millwall, but The Bluebirds could not match the offer from Forest and the striker moved to The City Ground instead.

"We made Neil an offer of an 18-month contract on comparable terms to Nottingham Forest," said Cardiff statement.

"The deciding factor was the length of contract offered by Nottingham Forest. We could not commit to that financial outlay at this present time."
