Lions fight back for point

Millwall twice came from behind to take a point from their home game with Cardiff.

Millwall twice came from behind to take a point from their home game with Cardiff.

Gary O'Neil and Alan Lee had fired the visitors ahead on separate occasions, but Dennis Wise's battlers replied through Jo Tessem and Neil Harris.

Cardiff are starting to show signs of life following a sticky start to the season and, after weathering an early storm, almost took the lead through Graham Kavanagh - but Graham Stack was the equal of his drive from distance.

Barry Hayles, Alan Dunne and Darren Ward all went close for The Lions, while at the other end Kavanagh had a header saved by Stack.

Cardiff took the lead five minutes before the break when on-loan Portsmouth ace O'Neil lofted the ball into the net.

A half time substitution sparked a Millwall revival, as Harris climbed off the bench to tee up Tessem for the equaliser.

Cardiff restored their advantage with 25 minutes remaining when heading home from close range, but Harris silenced the travelling fans when netting from Dunne's cross to secure a point.
