CARDIFF CITY have played down reports linking them with Tranmere Rovers defender Clint Hill.
It had been reported that City had turned their attention to the 22-year-old hardman after failing to land Huddersfield's Chris Lucketti, although a club spokesman claims that this is not the case.
He told planetfootball.com: "It's the first I've heard of it. There was talk of bringing a defender in, but that all hinged on Spencer Prior being out for six weeks.
"Now it looks as though Spencer will be back in action within a week or so, so it's all gone a bit quiet here to be honest."
Hill made 34 league appearances for Tranmere last season in a campaign which was once again hijacked by disciplinary problems after he received an incredible 14 yellow cards.
