Sky Sports understands Chris Lines has emerged as a target for a host of clubs including Bradford following his release from Sheffield Wednesday.
The 27-year-old midfielder agreed to the cancellation of his contract after two years at Hillsborough in which he made 53 appearances for the Owls.
Lines' representatives are already in talks with several clubs as the player looks to firm up his plans for the forthcoming season.
Bradford are among the frontrunners to secure the services of the former Bristol Rovers player as the newly-promoted side look to bring in experience ahead of their League One campaign.
But they face competition from fellow third-tier outfit MK Dons who are also in discussions regarding the experienced player.
