Shrewsbury have been dealt a blow after Jeremy Helan was recalled by Manchester City only to join Sheffield Wednesday on loan.
French winger Helan was due to see his initial month-long stay with Shrews expire after Saturday's trip to Oldham, but his Premier League parent club cut short his loan at the Greenhous Meadow.
It was then announced he had linked up with the Owls on a one-month deal.
Michael Hector has also returned to parent club Reading on a permanent basis. The 20-year-old centre-back had been due to remain with the League One club until January, but was sent back to the Royals by Town boss Graham Turner two weeks ago in order to train and play reserve games.
Turner felt Hector needed to pick up more experience but had not completely ruled him out of playing again for Shrewsbury before his agreement was due to expire.
Meanwhile, Turner has agreed a loan deal for a mystery young player from an unnamed Premier League side and hopes the deal with be ratified ahead of Thursday's 5pm loan deadline.
