Kieran Lee insists Sheffield Wednesday are ready to make a flying start in the Championship after some fun in the sun. The Owls squad recently returned from a pre-season training camp in Portugal where boss Dave Jones used the time for team bonding to bed in new players. Wednesday get their season underway in just a few weeks with a League Cup tie against his former club Oldham where Lee made over 100 appearances before turning their attention to the league campaign. And with expectations from the fans high following their promotion from League One last season, Lee revealed the players would be happy with a top-half finish. "It is going to be tough and we know that," said Lee. "We hope to do well obviously, but we can't get too far ahead of ourselves, so we will be looking for a top-half finish and seeing where we go from there. "It was good fun out there, but it was hard work at the same time, especially with the heat. "It brought all the lads closer together and allowed all the new lads, like myself, to bond with the group that were here from last season. "I'm looking forward to the challenge of getting into the first team and getting some Championship games under my belt. "I am at the right age now and have had a good few years at Oldham in the lower leagues so it feels like the right time now to step up and prove myself."
